Personify: What are the duties of an e-Recruitment Specialist at Personify?
Lauren Harris: As an e-Recruitment Specialist, I support each client by ensuring that all their recruitment actions are carried out properly in their applicant tracking systems (ATS) and assist with their strategy behind placing job ads and attracting candidates. I am also a subject matter expert in each client system and process within the company so I am equipped to assist with any issue they may have. Another responsibility of being an e-Recruitment Specialist is knowing how our internal applicant tracking systems operate and assisting with the adaptation and implementation of each.
PFY: What makes your role innovative, in comparison with traditional RPO jobs?
LH: Traditional RPO jobs sometimes limit you to one client, one process and one system. Being an e-Recruitment Specialist, I am able to work with every single RPO client. I learn every process and strategy, learn the ins and outs of each system, and learn how each account we support makes an impact on the industry they are in. Throughout my two year tenure with our e-Recruitment team, I have become more innovative in how I handle situations within the workflow. I am able to apply and suggest creative strategies and solutions, anticipate potential problems, and help create ways to avoid similar issues in the future.
PFY: What is a challenge you’ve faced and how did you overcome it?
LH: A challenge that I’ve faced and will continue to face is learning new HR systems constantly. As the HR tech sector continues to expand rapidly, it can be a little daunting to keep up with all the latest technology available to support the recruiting process. Each client is different and has a different system(s) to meet their needs. In addition to being a part of the e-Recruitment team, I’m a member of Personify’s Innovation Committee, which is a cross-functional group that evaluates and assesses HR tech trends and tools to help Personify and our clients stay at the forefront of leveraging available technology to improve the recruitment process. Our focus this year is AI technology that can be used to automate the recruitment process.
PFY: What is the most rewarding part of your job?
LH: The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that I am able to effectively help our clients and our company as a whole. I can see the impact of my work daily, and it’s nice to see how my little piece of the puzzle fits into the high-quality recruitment services we provide to our clients.
